Brouwer, en efecto, funda el Intuicionismo Matemático, como antagonico al Formalismo Matematico de su epoca. Sus ideas principales fueron expuestas en su libro "Prueba del Teorema de Jordan para N Dimensiones"(1912). '' Brouwer invirtió mucho tiempo buscando la "Teoria Intuitiva para los Numeros Reales", a los cuales el llamo especies.
